Trap shooting

A trap house is provided with a remote controlled clay target thrower.

There is a 5 station trap range for practicing your shooting on clay targets. There are no Trap Leagues organized at present. Anyone interest in organizing a league can meet with the board at the monthly meeting.

Trap Range

Safety Rules for Shotgun Trap Shooting Area

  1. Obey all commands, rules and keep safety top priority.
  2. All shooters and spectators must wear eye and ear protection at all times.
  3. When not at the shooting station, your gun must be empty with actions open.
  4. No more than one round in firearm at a time.
  5. Shot size 7 ½ or smaller only.
  6. Only one shooter at a time at shooting station.
  7. Load firearm only after entering shooting station and all is clear.
  8. When shooting is done, remember to open the action and check firearm. Make sure the firearm is unloaded and action is open before leaving shooting station.
  9. The practice of tracking a clay target is prohibited unless shooter is in the shooting station.
  10. Trap squads must consist of no more than five shooters.
  11. Only shooters participating in round are allowed on field.
  12. No one is allowed past firing line at any time while field is in use.
  13. Biodegradable clays are recommended but not required.
  14. When range officer is in trap house or red flag is up, no one is allowed to handle a firearm on the field.
  15. All shooting games, competitions and rounds must take place in designated limits of trap range of field.
  16. No hand held throwers are allowed.
  17. Junior or novice shooters need to be accompanied by an adult.
  18. Pick up all your spent shells and discard when finished shooting.
  19. Turn of trap machine and release thrower arm, flip power switch off. Close and lock the top door.
